NORTHERN BALLET

Northern Ballet is back with 3 brand new ballets for 2020. Once again, a unique series of well-known children’s classics are brought to life in a colourful, fun and engaging ballet performances curated especially with young families and pre-schoolers in mind.  

 

These hour long events provide the perfect way to introduce young children to the artistic beauty of ballet in a comfortable, affordable, local family-friendly setting while encouraging a fun trip to the cinema, an engaging interactive experience and a great early introduction to the cinema for new families that can provide valuable trailering opportunities.

PLUS: Before each of the ballets, meet Elephant, Monkey or Polar Bear from the animated series Jungle Beat and join in their hilarious adventures via two short episodes before the main event begins.

The Ugly Duckling - Available from 25th April 2020

Northern Ballet’s hugely popular Ugly Duckling arrives on the big screen for the first time as part of an unmissable season of interactive ballets for children, narrated by Anita Rani.

Our lovable duckling is lonely and fed-up, ignored by those around her who think she is too ugly to fit in. She tries to make friends with other ducklings as well as with frogs, cats and even a fox! But realising that she is not like any of these animals, she is left sad and alone. 

Follow Ugly on her journey as she overcomes her troubles and realises that she was beautiful all along!

Puss in Boots - Available from 13th June 2020

Puss in Boots is no ordinary cat. Clever and charming, he takes life in his stride and befriends everyone he meets. The only thing is, he always seems to bring his master, Jack, bad luck. 

Join Puss and Jack on their adventure as they meet a flurry of lovable characters, cause chaos in the palace gardens and even come face to face with royalty!

Experience this much-loved ballet for children on the big screen for the first time as part of our fantastic season of interactive ballets for children, narrated by Anita Rani.

Goldilocks & the Three Bears - Available from 19th September 2020

 

Goldilocks is a mischievous little girl with hair as bright as gold. One day, whilst exploring in the woods, her curiosity leads her into a house full of surprises.

With a family of friendly bears, a beautiful blue bird and three delicious bowls of porridge, join Goldilocks on her adventure in this adorable ballet for children.

Book your seats with plenty of wriggle room as you’ll be learning the moves too, with a little help from presenter Anita Rani.

Much-loved BBC presenter Anita Rani is on hand to read the stories and show some of the moves from the ballets with the help of the loveable characters. 

There are also two short 5 minute episodes of ‘Jungle Beat’ prior to each feature.

 

Jungle Beat is a family-friendly comedy series of 3D animated non-dialogue shorts, each focusing on a different animal character and the hilarious situations they encounter in nature.
